2026 - the 10th Annual Kindness Matters Walk

We are excited to invite you to join us for the 10th Annual Kindness Matters Walk (KM Walk) on 11/26/2026 - a milestone year for a community tradition built on hope, gratitude, and action. In 2026, supporters can join us in person on Thanksgiving morning in Fullerton, CA, or participate virtually from wherever you are. However you decide to take part, every step helps carry Katie’s legacy forward.

The virtual walk makes it easy for friends, families, companies, and community groups to participate on their own schedule, anytime, anywhere. Participants can complete their own 5K by walking, running, rollerblading, kayaking, pushing a stroller - or choosing any activity that moves them. On Thanksgiving morning, participants can also join virtually as we kick off the holiday with a live-streamed celebration featuring giveaways, contests, speakers, and more.

Proceeds from the KM Walk support brain tumor research at a national level, and leadership development opportunities for young adults locally in the Fullerton, CA area. To date, the foundation has donated more than $460,563 to brain cancer research organizations and has awarded more than $540,858 in scholarships to students for their leadership development - an impact of just over $1 million! This year alone, the foundation helped more than 50 students continue their education and awarded one student a full, four-year scholarship to Cal State University Fullerton. This is the power of a community that chooses kindness, shows up, and gives generously.

This is the main fundraising event for the KM Legacy Foundation. We are so blessed with a supportive community that supports the foundation. Registration for all events will open on 10/1/2026. During registration, you will also have the opportunity to purchase a KM Walk shirt as an “add on”.
